If you were to look at the supply chain for our forces in Afghanistan, the ports and transportation of our trucks and supplies into and through Pakistan is easily the weakest link. This is why:

It sounds like the ANA may be driving their Ford Rangers around a little while longer before they get new uparmored HUMVEES. Also, any of our troops who thought they would be getting a new gun truck may have to wait a little while longer. I hope none of this was destined for the 3rd BCT, 10th MTN who is scheduled to surge into country next month.

President-elect Barack Obama has chosen retired Gen. Eric K. Shinseki to be the next Veterans Affairs secretary, turning to a former Army chief of staff once vilified by the Bush administration for questioning its Iraq war strategy. He will be the first Asian-American to hold the post of Veterans Affairs secretary.
